Landon's journey in construction began at Royce Builders and D.R. Horton, with production building, before moving to sales and eventually contracting. Each role added a layer of expertise, from understanding construction fundamentals to learning the importance of client relationships.

Born from Storm and Strategy
Natural disasters played a pivotal role in shaping Prestige Custom Builders' approach to home construction. After Hurricane Ike, while working at Coker Doors and Moulding, Landon witnessed firsthand the personal impact of coastal storms. "It really showed me more of the personal side of things," he reflects, "getting to know these individuals, especially in a state of devastation, trying to put their houses back together."
Later experiences with Hurricane Harvey and Tropical Storm Imelda further refined his vision. Even his own home, just 14 months old, faced flooding during Tropical Storm Imelda. These experiences didn't discourage him; they strengthened his resolve to build homes that better withstand coastal challenges. Each storm provided valuable lessons about coastal construction, from material selection to engineering solutions.
Prestige Custom Builders was actually created during Hurricane Laura, with Landon drawing confidence from being in his own well-built home. "I felt safer inside my home than anywhere else because I knew how it was built and the engineering behind it," he shares.
A Personal Connection to Crystal Beach
Why did Landon choose to establish Prestige Custom Builders in Crystal Beach? For a personal reason first: Landon used to spend vacations there as a child. This lifelong connection offered insight into what makes this coastal community special.

So, after exploring various locations for six to eight months, from Lumberton to Mid-County, Crystal Beach emerged as the perfect fit for Prestige's vision of elevated coastal living.
